Zli Su Vrët (/zli/ /su/ [sharp] [journey; tour; voyage]) is a temperate Town located in Atne̜ner Parish, Bàze Logu Empire, within the Warrenese Shogunate.

The name Zli Su Vrët is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Zli Su Vrët was founded by Brî Pherierzoth, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Zli Su Vrët has a yearly average temperature of 9°C (48°F), with its average temperature during the summer being an icy 28°C (82°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a freezing -10°C (14°F). Zli Su Vrët receives an average of 201 cm/y (79 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Zli Su Vrët covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 2708 m (8884 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Zli Su Vrët was founded durring the early 15th century in winter of the year 1438, by Brî Pherierzoth. The establishment of Zli Su Vrët suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Zli Su Vrët which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Zli Su Vrët was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the early 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Zli Su Vrët is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Zli Su Vrët is is constructed arround a semi-circular crampt baked earthen mainstreet, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks and fences to provide minimal protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. The somewhat suffishent has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

Right off the bat Zli Su Vrët hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this town has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. This wealth has brought the town nothing but neurosis, if you can believe your eyes. Everyone acts as if you’re out to take a piece of them. Every door is locked and every window barred. Efforts are made to make you feel welcome, but only in the public areas of the town, particularly the market.

Civic Infrastructure

Zli Su Vrët possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.

Zli Su Vrët has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.

Zli Su Vrët has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Zli Su Vrët.

Zli Su Vrët has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Zli Su Vrët has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Zli Su Vrët has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Zli Su Vrët's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Zli Su Vrët has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.

Zli Su Vrët has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Zli Su Vrët has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Zli Su Vrët is led by one or more incompetents. While they must have been very good at something to have acquired the position, they are fundamentally incapable of leading. Uncontrolled passions or lusts, commitment to a hopelessly impractical ideal, pigheaded obstinacy in the face of failure, a total lack of charisma or interpersonal skills, or profound laziness might all unfit them for their post.

Zli Su Vrët's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is admittedly strange and non-linear style rooted in defiance of symmetrical shapes. It championed the creation of buildings with a unique visual appearance. the structural norms of classic buildings and deforms or moves away from elementary architectural principles. By including non-linear designs processed into its buildings and favoring fragmentation, this style expressed a form of controlled chaos. Its buildings appear out-of-the-ordinary, draw the eye in immediately and sometimes create a feeling of strangeness. These distorted shapes and structure are not reserved to the building’s outer facade, they destabilize interior elements too, favoring minimalism and play on people’s perceptions by injecting a futuristic touch.

Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is skipped in Zli Su Vrët.

The Gremlin near Zli Su Vrët are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Zli Su Vrët's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves consuming a local toxin to channel Invocation energies of tier 3 via chanting.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century after an anomalously snowy winter, runoff from snow-melt caused Lake Ozero to overflow its banks and spill into River Empty. The resulting flood was isolated to the area around Zli Su Vrët, which was swallowed by the waters for several days. Zli Su Vrët lost 211 people, 373 livestock, and 69 buildings in the disaster. The disaster is remembered as the Cursed Fates Drownings.
